The following are some highlights of Gord's career thus far. Recipient of the 2004 King Clancy Award, given by the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons and presented by The Honourable James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. Recipient of the 2003 Queen's Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal Community Action Award from the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture & Recreation, 1999 Outstanding Young Citizen Award, Brantford Jaycees, 1987-88 Canadian Diabetes Association, Ontario Division, Citation Award, 1989 Hole-in-One, Northridge Golf Course, 2nd Hole, 184 yards, August 1999 Annual participant in the Walter Gretzky CNIB Celebrity Golf Tournaments, Brantford, Ontario / recipient of Celebrity Golf Tournment Award of Merit, 2000 Honourary Memberships in many organizations including Canada Jaycees, Optimist Clubs Honourary Chairman for Fundraising Campaigns including Operation Lift; SPCA Performer/Speaker for Special Olympics Sports Celebrities Festivals across Canada Performed with the International Yuk Yuk's Comedy Circuit throughout Canada, United States and Bermuda Performed before HRH Princess Ann at the 125th Anniversary dinner for the Grampian Society for the Blind in Aberdeen, Scotland in September of 2004 Performed as opening act for well-known celebrities such as Don Rickles (2004), Joan Rivers (2003), Christopher Reeves (for PATH Employment Services at Copps Colliseum in Hamilton, May 1999), and for the Beach Boys at Canada's Wonderland (1997) Motivational shows for companies and organizations all over North America including AT&T, Ford Motor Co., GM, Nissan, Berkshire, Labatts, Molsons, Ontario Hydro, CNIB, CDA, JDF, Easter Seals, March of Dimes, Ontario Federation for Celebral Palsy, Kidney Foundation, Community Living, Multiple Sclerosis, Crime Stoppers, Lafarge, Bank of Montreal, RBC and Ontario Teachers Federation. Television Appearances include: Open Mike with Mike Bullard, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Fifth Estate, Nature of Things with David Suzuki, Studio Two with Paul Todd, Breakfast Television, Comics on CBC, Club 54 and many more. Gord has been a welcome guest on many radio shows and most recently co-hosted a call-in talk show on golf. |
